A Holistic Doctor's Guide For The Self Healing Journey

Healing vs. Curing . . . 'The challenge in medicine is not the choice between one and the other, "We need both," Dr. Paul Epstein.

For everyone interested in healing including yoga teachers, health professionals, caregivers, and individuals on a healing journey.

This webinar series in mind-body medicine will teach you how to live questions and how to develop therapeutic skills of guided imagery and mindfulness meditation. We will look and listen within to discover the message and meaning hidden inside our pain and our symptoms of the body, mind, heart and spirit. We will learn how to be with what we find with wisdom and compassion. Illness is an opportunity to embark on a journey of self-healing and awakening, to come home to our true and authentic self.

Through guided inquiry, silent reflection, meditation, lecture and case histories, you will learn to apply the principles of mind-body healing in your clinical practice and/or your life.

Workshop topics include:
Monday, April 7th
How Our Biography Becomes Our Biology
The Body-Mind Bears The Burden

If you don't know your history, are you doomed to repeat it?
How Have I Come To Be Like This?

Disease tells a story, not just about 'our cells' and a diagnosis but about 'ourselves' and our lives . . . about stress and the mind-body connection. Listening to this story, we are led to the truth of what happened to us and the emotions that lie at the core of our authentic being. Healing happens when we embark on a journey to our true and authentic self. Healing vs. Curing and how to integrate both.

Listening To Your Symptoms
Finding Your Self-Healer with Clinical Guided Imagery

If my symptom, issue, or pain has a meaning, what might that be? Am I willing to listen with the ears of my heart to the other voices of myself speaking?
You will be guided to look inside and dialogue with your symptom and you're your inner self-healer. Healing is the experience of wholeness and involves embracing and re-membering of all your wounded parts, healing your relationship with your self.

Monday, April 21st
Mindfulness Meditation & The Healing Power of Unconditional Presence

Healing happens in the now, comes from within and is a CHOICE. Cultivating healing qualities of being . . . among them are a beginner's mind, patience, non-judgment, courage, commitment, non-striving and radical acceptance. Imagine opening your heart to receive and welcome your wounded parts and the burdens they carry. Let them in, open to them and embrace them with mercy and awareness.

Monday, April 28th
In The Heart Of The Pain Is This Healing . . . Cultivating Compassion
The Healing Journey Meets The Spiritual Path

How Do I Be With What I Find With Wisdom and Compassion?
We can learn to relate to our pain in a new way, to breathe in the pain and breathe out compassion. Once we become "aware" of our story and are willing to listen, we can fully engage our inner true self, our inner healer, our compassionate heart, our 'bodhichitta.' As we choose to embrace and re-member and welcome our wounds with compassion, we heal as we unburden ourselves and awaken peace and joy. We live freely to follow our bliss continuing on our journey of self-healing and spiritual awakening.

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
When you change the way you be with things, the things you be with change.
