The Flexibility For Athletes programs are designed to train the core organs of your body more efficiently without the normal repetitive motion injuries. The traditional training of the last 30 years is obsolete and has run its' course. To excel athletes must create more energy and awareness with their body first and mind second. In other words, to develop peak health & fitness, we must skillfully create a "Body OVER Mind" atmosphere harnessing the wisdom of the body. Ed Harrold's Flexibility For Athletes training program incorporates optimal performance strategies drawn from the yoga tradition--and specially tailored for the athlete. This revolutionary training philosophy crosses the barriers of fitness and yoga to create an entirely new paradigm in sports training and fitness enthusiasts.
Ed's approach improves performance by increasing energy, stamina and endurance with a built-in relaxation response for a meditation-in-motion workout with a faster recovery time. For endurance athletes, this work is cutting-edge. No previous yoga experience is necessary.
In this workshop, we'll learn the following foundational techniques on indoor spin bikes. If you prefer, bring your bike and trainer. The program contains:
1) Sport Specific Breath work. We use basic, intermediate and advanced yogic breathing techniques as Inspiratory Muscle Training (muscles of the inhale) to optimize fitness and sports training. Your breath is the basic system of deposits and withdrawals. It's the foundation of all your training. Specific techniques are used to tap into the core energies of the belly, hips, buttock to raise energy levels naturally and organically. Breath is also used to balance out the left and right hemispheres of the brain to create more balance with each sides' strengths and responsibilities.
2) Cross-patterning yoga sequencing to create more body awareness, recalibrate the neuromuscular system and develop core balance/strength/flexibility. We teach the body and mind to work together not against each other. The more angles the body/mind can be in safely, the more mind will become creative in the angles it uses to release more energy from your body.
3) Select mental training that creates positive patterning towards the task at hand and guarantees optimal performance in every workout.

To register for a workshop, complete this form along with payment in full to Comfort Zone Center For Whole Self Healing. Workshops must be paid in full by the day of the workshop or your registration is cancelled.
Comfort Zone Center does not confirm registration. Once registered, you will receive information about your program in the mail from us. You will be contacted again only if the workshop you have chosen is full.
If you're registering for a 6 or 8-week series, we will make allowances for 2 make-up classes per Series. You can make-up the missed classes in any of the classes on our walk-in schedule. These make-up classes MUST be used within the dates of your particular series.

Our dorm style living is a 3 bedroom condominium with single beds in each bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, living room, dining area and full kitchen, cable television. We provide bedding and basic bath linens. You will need to make your own bed. There is no daily housekeeping service.
