Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art whose roots date back over 2,000 years. Because Martial Arts are about much more than just punching and kicking, for thousands of years the Martial Arts have been the preserve of the warrior with their code of honor and dignity, of leadership and courage, a life of action but also of spiritual and emotional development. This ancient art has much to offer the young warrior - both girls and boys. We have found that Tae Kwon Do is the modern day advantage to achieving success and becoming a leader in all areas of life.
Your child will:
- Experience the movements and basic techniques of Tae Kwon Do and Mu Duk Kwon.
- Participate in basic meditation and breathing exercises.
- Learn the seven qualities of a champion, which will build discipline and respect.
- Attain confidence and leadership skills through games and role-play.
- Explore the basic elements of Self-defense: keeping safe and deflating the bully.
- Acquire knowledge of martial arts history, philosophy, and protocol.
- Gain an appreciation of ancient traditions.
- Have a weekend filled with exercise for the body, mind and spirit.
Building true confidence in your child is the best way to protect them from dangerous situations and to insulate them from the negative opinions of others. It is the children who are unsure of themselves who fall prey to negative peer pressure and who choose friends that will actually stifle their emotional growth. Studying martial arts and self-defense builds confidence and gives them the necessary tools to make appropriate decisions such as who to befriend and what actions to take. Your child will be exposed to a character development program taught through participation and action, not long lectures.
If your child needs more action this summer OR needs to focus their active behavior - this weekend is what you seek!
